The House
Old stone, new soul
Bratus Escape is a traditional Dalmatian stone house in the fishing village of Bratuš, five kilometres south of Baška Voda on the Makarska Riviera. The pebble beach and the clear Adriatic are a short stroll from the front door.
In 2021 the house was renovated from the ground up: thick stone walls, wooden beams and the old mill were preserved, while the kitchen, bathroom, air conditioning and bedding are entirely new. The result is the character of an old house with none of its compromises.
Behind the village rises the Biokovo massif — sunrise over the sea, sunset over the mountain. Baška Voda and Makarska with their restaurants and promenades are minutes away, yet Bratuš itself stays wonderfully quiet.
